Sun, 4th Feb, 2018 Memorial Park, Boddington to Bob & Margaret’s, near Mandurah, WA

8am 24 degrees, clear sky and a nice light cool breeze.

Listened to Macca on the ABC radio. A Chap from Broome rang in about all the rain they have had recently – January total of 915mls. The road has just been opened again. He said it was lovely and green but with the recent two cyclones there is a lot of big trees falling over.

Another chap rang from Bathurst where he was helping out with the 12 hour race, which is why we are heading back to Bob & Margaret’s, so we can watch it there.

Headed off down the road towards Pinjarra. Passed the Marradong Mining Operations where a conveyor belt passes under the road to link up with the other operation at Saddleback. This is the hill we saw in the distance yesterday. Bit fuzzy shots of the conveyor belt.

Crossed over the Hotham River as it heads down to join the Williams River where it then becomes the Murray River.

Up and down the hills of sheep pastures and natural forest then into old forestry area which has been replanted with jarrah. Through Dwellingup – we explored that with Bob and Margaret.

Dropped back down the Darling Range to Pinjarra. Stopped for a cuppa by the Murray River. Great spot to end this little journey as two years ago we had gone down to the SA Murray River mouth and tipped in the water we got from the source of the Murray up in the Snowy Mountains.

Back into Mandurah. Lots of boats out enjoying the lovely weather as we cross The Cut to Bob and Margaret’s place.

Backed into our spot for the next few weeks. The frangipani has lovely fragrant blooms.

Watched the end bit of the 12 hour race that Channel 7 was showing – had to be called as there was a big crash at the end.

Lovely afternoon catching up with Bob and Margaret.
