Blue
sky and clouds and a warm morning. The black cockatoos are having a great
squawk this morning.
While
we were out yesterday Val and Hank must have dropped of a Thank You card for us
after dinner on Sunday. Such a lovely gesture. As she was working I sent her a
text reply. Will be great to see them again when we get back later in the year.
Mum
and I headed off for our ‘Thursday Pokies’ day. We had a lovely day and we even
had a couple of nice wins. The best bit was using mine, Mum’s and Val’s
birthdates for 4 number Keno. We only play 10 cents per game (bit of
entertainment over lunch) and we got the 4 out 4 so we won $12 for our 10 cent
outlay. We had some other wins on the other 9 games and won another $1 from
those.
After
lunch we checked to see if Val had made it back from hospital yet but no one
was home so will find her later. We went around to Brothers for another play
and had a nice win there too. We often say when one of us is missing that that
person is sitting on our shoulders if we lose but Val was bringing us good luck
which was great.
I
rang the hospital when we got home and she was still in Coronary Care so drove
in to visit her. She is looking better but they want to keep her in for another
5 days to get the infection out of her leg. At least she has a wonderful big
family so there is always someone around to visit her.
I
had rung Suzanne yesterday but she was over a Kayleigh’s for their ‘family tea’
night so we arranged to meet tonight. Libby and her boyfriend Chris were home
too which was great to hear their news over dinner. Chris was transferred to
Cairns in the Police Force which was very interesting. Tenille came home later
so I got to catch up with her too.
More
rain with some lightning and thunder just before I headed home but it had
passed over quickly. As I got to the end of our street I noticed something
wiggle on the road so stopped for a look and it was a green tree snake though
he wasn’t happy to see me so I kept going home.
The
rain started again and the frogs are very happy and telling everyone about it.
Noisy little things especially when you are going off to sleep.
NO
