Sun, 17th Mar, 2019 10 Mile Outcamp, Tarmoola Station, 60km north of Leonora, WA

7.30am 24 degrees, blue sky with wispy white clouds and a cool breeze from the north.

Quiet relaxing morning pottering about. Steve kept up to date with the Supercars racing in Melbourne on the tablet – the new Mustangs have hit the track flying.

Rang Ray and Carol about detecting with them later. Looking forward to catching up with them again.

Kev and Linda rang for a chat. He was sure we would be in front of a TV somewhere watching the racing. They are continuing with fixing up their new home and he has some car projects underway too.

After lunch we headed out for a detect. The Leonora aborigines we met yesterday have moved closer to the Darlot Road. We could see the bonnet was up so Steve turned onto the track to check on them. They had flattened their battery. The chap we chatted with yesterday showed us the 3 little nuggets he just found – I don’t think they worry about getting permission or 40E permits!! Nearly reminded him about picking up his rubbish as there were packets on the ground again but he probably wouldn’t listen. Steve gave them a jump start. They said their friends should be here shortly. As we drove out a 2wd car drove in with three younger guys in it. I didn’t feel comfortable now leaving the van and cottage so Steve took me back to the van then he headed back out to detect on land we have permission to detect on.

Quiet arvo pottering about. Storm clouds are building in the north west. Dan sent a message about his trip to Melbourne with Fran in August – will be a bit chilly. Jon and Jess rang for a chat. They were just back from the farm where the dogs had a ball swimming so they are nice and clean and worn out now.

No cattle coming in for drinks now there is water lying around the area. No joy for Steve either in the gold department!

Drinks on the verandah with the flies – dark clouds blocking out the sun but I don’t think we will see any rain.

Dinner and movies with a nice breeze blowing.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
