Sun, 17th Nov, 2019 Chris & Mickey’s place, Sandstone, WA

30 degrees straight up this morning. Hot northerly wind has picked up.

Margit posted a photo of Sam’s high school graduation so I gave her a call. She answered with a very croaky voice. She, Martin, Jodie, Bryan and Steph had all come down with the flu just before the graduation. Not nice at all. Sam had an interview and was given a job straight away in Mt Isa. He will stay with Margit’s brother which will be great. Jodie and Bryan are planning to head over there too.

I unpacked our new Soda Stream and filled up the water bottles – will give it a go this afternoon to put some fizz in my wine and make a cola for Steve to have with his rum, there is also a Ginger Beer flavour which I will try too.

Chris set up his new fire pit (She Devil Fires). Folds flat and looks great but it is very heavy.

We all decided to have a dip in the pool before lunch as it was 45 degrees. Amazingly the pool was still very cold which was lovely. It actually felt very chilly after a while.

Made lunch in the van – everything feels so hot to touch. Joined Mickey and Chris in the air conditioned house to eat our lunch – much nicer!

Tried the Soda Stream when we had drinks – not bad, not quite as fizzy as mineral water but it will do and it will save some weight and cost too.

Rolled in the awning and hooked up the truck ready for tomorrow when we will head to Geraldton.

Steve and I had another dip in the pool before dinner which I cooked in the van but we ate with the others in the house.
