Tues, 25th Oct, 2022 Bush camp near Goanna Patch South Mine, south of Leinster to Chris & Mickey’s place, Leonora, WA

Windy night - closed up the windows. Min of 14.5 degrees but it was up to 19 by 7am. Mostly clear sky.

The wind is quite chilly so it is only 23 degrees in the camper today.

We packed up and headed south towards Leonora. Passed the turn off into 10 Mile Outcamp (Tarmoola Station) where we spent 4 months over summer of 2018-19. We had a great time there. We heard that Rob had sold the station to one of the mines - there are two here on the station.

Into Leonora and topped up with fuel and water then around to Chris and Mickey’s place. He works for St Barbara’s mining so they have a mine house here. So lovely to see Mickey again - such a fun and generous person. Their dogs, Diesel and Saffron are happy to see us too. We parked up by their van out the front.

Chatted the afternoon away. Chris came home from work - only one day left then he is on his 6 days off. They are loving it here and hopefully Mickey will get a job going driving the mine bus etc which she is happy about.

Lovely dinner and lots of chatting. Got quite cool as we were sitting outside that we had to get our flanny shirts! They bought a house in Northampton but it has tenants till April so they are looking forward to when they move out and they can set up home there. Hopefully we can check it out when we head towards home next year.
