Cool
overcast and windy morning. Quiet day to rest our weary legs! I worked on my
blog and Steve read and pottered about.
We
went for a walk along the foreshore as the tide was in. Lots of sea grass on the
bank.
If
we keep walking we would reach Wilson’s Promontory but we stopped at the
“point” as the locals call it and turned back. Quite a walk any case. View back
to boats outside our camp – had to zoom in to see them.
From
the point looking around towards the mouth which is still another couple of
kilometres.
Steve
tested the water in the soak – drinkable. Looks like a wombat might have been
down digging for a drink.
The
clouds are moving over quickly. Good view of the Foster Ranges and all the dairy
farms.
Someone
pulled the old tree stump away from the wombat hole.
He
certainly has a good view though.
Took
another photo of our van in our camp. Paid for another two nights.
Back
to the van for some lunch and more blogging. After a cuppa back down the beach
for another walk – got to keep the legs moving. A chap with a couple of dogs
said that two wombats came flying out of the hole and everyone got a fright as
the dog took off after one. Hope they didn’t hurt it.
Chatting
with our neighbours and we can drive down a road from Yanakie that takes us
closer to the mouth of the inlet so might do that tomorrow.
Amazing
how all those clouds have disappeared and the sky is now clear and blue. The
weather bureau got that wrong as they said the bad weather would settle in for
a few days. Glad they were wrong but we could have walked Mt Oberon today with
a better view. Oh well, another time.
Roast
beef in the Ecopot with roast vegs fried in the frypan – lovely dinner. Down to
the foreshore for sunset at 8.15pm. Light but cold breeze. Chatted with a few
people while the sun set. Watched a couple fishing who are planning to stay out
all night to try and catch a gummy shark!!!
Back
to the van for a quiet night – “Bodyguard” is on Gem – love that show.
