Tues, 7th Nov, 2017 Hakea Reserve, E of Cervantes to Drummond Reserve, E of Cervantes, WA

7.30am 26.4 degrees, sunny – much nicer. Strong gusty wind from the east came up early. The turbines are humming steadily now.

Headed a bit further east, past the Emu Downs Solar Farm on the other side of the wind farm. Low heath land scrub and black boys. Turned into Drummonds Reserve where there were a few nice trees for shade. Backed into a spot with a great view over the scrubland. Lots of screeching galahs here.

Certainly a hotter day with 38.4 degrees at lunch. We are glad we love our van as we don’t go outside much because the flies are so bad.

Steve fixed my window latch – hadn’t been open in months. I worked on my blog – nice to able to stop and catch up after a good sightseeing session.

Played some games of Sequence then worked on the Canning Trip details.

By 2pm dark clouds started coming over then we heard thunder. Rang Mum and Dad for a chat and then spits of rain started to fall on the van. Didn’t amount to much and just made it quite humid. I had forgotten it was Melbourne Cup day. Mum couldn’t remember who won. I told her that Winx owner was Mum’s cousin, Bob Ingham’s daughter, Debbie. She said the trainer was on the news all sad saying Winks is needing a rest but she didn’t know what happened to her.

The dark clouds disappeared but a nice breeze came back which was cooling. Played some Dice then watched a new 4x4 dvd Steve got with a magazine. They were around Bundaberg.

Tracy Pink sent a text about John Hay’s passing in October so I rang her back for a chat. George became a tradesman mechanic today so they had all been out for dinner. Grant is back on his motorbike and things are going well for all of them which is wonderful.

The night stayed warm so we left all the windows open.
