Cool but pleasant temperature this morning, blue sky and a few puffy clouds. Lovely strong eucalyptus scent in the air.
Packed up. Janet has arranged for all the family to meet in Sorrento so we can all catch up.
Janet gave me detailed map to make sure we stay on the bitumen as we head back down to Yarra Glen. The rabbits are out and about this morning. Still a narrow road down but a bit more room when we meet someone.
Across the Yarra River.
On to Bayswater to see the chap at Wholesale Automatics about changing where the gears change. We can do it via my phone but as we aren’t that techo we will leave it to the experts. Steve knew where he wants the gears to change so the chap did it all with a few clicks on his tablet. Very helpful.
Louis rang for a chat which was lovely. Told us about all the road damage and of friend’s houses that got flooded further north.
Rang Dawn and arranged to see her on Wednesday at 2pm.
Programmed ‘girlie’ and headed to Gary and Cheryl’s place. We met them in Darwin when we were waiting for the replacement turbo and they were waiting for brake parts for their camper trailer. Then we met up again north of Broome and recently at Babinda - so old friends now.
The sky is lovely and clear here. Through farm land at Lysterfield and into Narre Warren North and along the road to their lovely home. Plenty of room to back down the side as he has a shed at the back for their van etc now. Set up camp under the blue sky.
Much warmer day - opened up all the windows. Chatted the afternoon away then enjoyed a delicious dinner with them. They are planning a trip across to WA from April so will give them some ‘must sees’.
