14.8 degrees, clear sky and the wind is back. Today is Mum & Dad’s wedding anniversary - they were such wonderful happy people.
Went wandering and the wind nearly blows you over. Steve got lots of exercise today - I got a lot of cross-stitching done and worked on my blog.
The breeze picked up again but wasn’t as strong as this morning so it was lovely sitting around the fire tonight. Only spotted two satellites - probably going in too early to cook dinner. The moon is getting fuller and brighter.
9pm and the wind is back.
Sun, 8th
14.4 degrees min. The sun doesn’t get over the hill till 7.30am to warm things up. The wind is back but not as bad as yesterday.
We drove off and tried a few areas but no joy. All the spots we found gold before Adam has pushed with the dozer and then rehabilitated so you only get swarf.
Back to camp for drinks with Ray & Carol by the fire - the wind has settled. Max of 28 today.
Mon, 9th
12.7 degrees this morning, clear sky and still windy.
We tried a few more places but not a single target to dig up.
We drove back to Linden’s 3 spot where we had got a few pieces, Adam had pushed here too but there is a section that had been burnt nearby so we went for a wander over that. Steve got a target then I got one at the same time and we both got a little bit of gold - yeah. Steve also found one of his smiley faces - Adam had just missed dozing it.
A cooler day - only got to 25, we are in for some cooler morning too when we checked the BOM.
Back to camp for drinks and see how Ray and Carol went today. Another good day for them with a gram nugget and a few bits.
We decided to head out tomorrow to try the other Valroc lease on the main road and to try and bush bash in to where Steve found some bits last year. Ray and Carol are staying to continue where they are finding their few bits.
