10.7 degree min - don’t envy Jamie and Shelley in their tent.
Mackerel clouds and gusty wind when we wandered over to say good morning to Dave & Sue. Barry and his dog arrived on a 4wheeler for a chat as he has 3 leases back along the track. Caught up on the local gossip too.
Said thanks and bye then continued along the track. Stopped to chat with a couple coming towards us - it was Robert & Robyn’s friends. Dave had rung them (they all have Starlink) to say we were heading their way. They were heading into Nullagine.
We continued on and found their new ‘home’. Well set up and they have been doing some scraping and detecting. Steve had wanted a lease up the Palmer but it was all too hard now.
Chatted the morning away then wandered around the hill to check out where they have been working. Very interesting. Had lunch then continued on but we will call back in and see them again before we head out.
Continued along a track but it ended at a creek so backed up and tried another one. Eventually we got around to the north end of the pending leases and set up for the night. The sky has cleared to lovely blue again.
Collected firewood for camp over dinner tonight.
Steve went for a wander while I worked on my blog.
Drinks by the fire as the sun disappeared behind the hill.
The mackerel clouds are back on the south side of the sky as the sun set. Very pretty.
A few little clouds over the hill are reflecting rainbow colours.
The sunset colours went across the clouds to the east and the west was very pretty too.
The breeze has stopped so it was very pleasant by the fire watching the satellites zoom across through the clouds which are thinning out. We spotted the space station too but didn’t see the mysterious lights to the west. Will be looking out for them from now on.
Dinner was delicious.
