Woken
at 6.30am by a race boat roaring by. Warmer morning, 20 degrees – opened up all
the windows to keep the van cool for later when we will be watching the V8s.
Alfresco breakfast overlooking the river, watching all the birds. The bird
brochure we picked up at the info shows the Crimson Rosella (yellow version)
which I think is this one and the little one looks like a budgie.
Steve
set up some Y sticks to rest his fishing rods on – the birds thought they were
good.
10am
and the river traffic is getting busy with cruisers, ski boats and jet skies.
Steve put out his fishing rods with raw prawn on them to see if anything is
interested.
A
rosella had a big bird bath – I even took a video as it looked so cute.
He
caught a 50cm Murray Cod.
The
big wakeboard boats are zooming past with their boom boxes blaring – makes us
think of Jon and his boat.
V8s
on – got out the 12 volt fan to keep us cool as it is 34.8 degrees. Great
races. Mark Winterbottom has secured his lead and will win the Championship
tomorrow. Go Ford.
Dug
out my floating hammock and put on our togs to go for a dip as certainly warmed
up today. 7pm it is still 37.2 degrees in the van. The water was lovely but the
sandy bank only went a little way and then it was all mud – yuk. Steve found a
deeper spot where we could get closer to the shore before having to put our
feet down to get out.
Found
my sarongs so now nice and comfortable after a cold shower to wash off the
muddy residue – well at least we went for a swim!!
Rang
Sam to wish him a happy birthday while they were all together for dinner.
Cooled
off to 29.9 degrees when we went to bed with all the windows and vents open.
