NT public holiday today. Slept in as it was nice and cool. 23 degrees at 8am.
Continued with my blog. The other campers left so Steve went to check what see if he needed to pick up any rubbish. Another car had pulled in and that chap was picking it up. He was from Victoria but was visiting his son and family in Darwin and brought the kids out for a swim.
Lovely breeze all morning so no need for the fans for a change.
The water has cleared in our ‘aquarium’, as Steve calls it, now the kids are out of the water. At lunch we saw a little barra then a smaller one and a cat fish swim under the log below us.
Put the awnings away ready to head off tomorrow morning.
After our afternoon cuppa we went around to the causeway for a dip as no one was around. After a few minutes a car pulled up and three chaps got out for a cool off after a day fishing. No luck with the fish unfortunately. They left and then we headed back to the camper.
I took photos of the pool again.
The tall grass is laying down too and someone tried to burn it but it was still a bit green as it didn’t take off.
Spotted a couple of barra then a bigger one while we were having drinks.
The fridge hasn’t been ‘right’ since we got it. We had rang them last year and they replace the thermostat as it was freezing things and we have adjusted to the fact that things on the bottom are at 1 degree or less and the top shelves are 4 degrees. Also it runs all day which isn’t good for the batteries. Bushmans say their fridges are designed for the tropics to cope with the high temps but this one isn’t. Decided to give Bushmans a call again to have a chat about it tomorrow as we tried what he suggested before we went on the cruise and it hasn’t made any difference.
Taught Steve to play Canasta after Charlotte got me into it again on the cruise. He is very frustrated with it and of course it isn’t be best game for 2 people as if one gets a good pile of cards they normally win.
Heard a ‘boof’ from a barra - maybe even the little ones make a good sound.
