Fri, 6th Oct, 2023 Mt Panorama Volunteer Campground, Bathurst, NSW (Greg’s birthday)

Forecast for 1 degrees but BOM says if feels like -1.8 degrees and I agree. There is ice on the cars as we head across to sign in etc.

Back to our gates. No wind at least. Dark clouds are building during the morning so the sun isn’t getting to warm us up much. Had fun chatting with all the people as they go in and out.

Picked Steve up on way back to camper for lunch. Sent great a birthday message.

Back to Toyota Gazoo again to watch another Supercar practice. This has been very handy and the ladies are lovely. We chatted with the chap who oversaw setting it up. He is the friend of the chap who owns the team.

Walked over the bridge and checked out the Army display.

People starting to set up on the hill ready for qualifying. Still busy down Merchandise Alley.

Caught up with Glen, Shelley and gang on pit straight where they were set up to watch qualifying. We had decided to go up the mountain to watch it so caught the bus up and worked our way along the ridge where all the campers have set up their shade shelters. Managed to find a spot and set up our chairs and drank our coffees while the cars whizzed by. Very cold and cloudy up here so by the end I was shaking with the cold even with all my layers on.

Back down on the bus. Stopped off to put in an offer for this car - only $340,000.

Back to camp for late drinks. The sun has come out again now and clouds have gone.

Dinner and early to bed again. Think I am getting too old for these early morning starts!
