Sat, 7th Oct, 2023 Mt Panorama Volunteer Campground, Bathurst, NSW

Warmer this morning according to BOM, 2 degrees. Sky is clear and no wind so it was ok. Very busy today with a lot more people coming and going from the campground and others driving in to the car park further along the hillside.

By late morning it had warmed up enough that I could take my big coat off but still had two layers on and was comfortable standing in the sun.

Collected Steve and we headed back to camp for lunch. His spot is undercover so he was still in his big coat. Rick and Libby’s birthdays today so sent off messages.

After lunch the clouds started rolling in again. We went up to the big screen on the 1st corner to watch the Top 10 Shootout. That way we could turn and watch the TV if something happened elsewhere on the track. Watched some of the other classes race first then the Top 10. Good to see that there are 6 Fords vs 4 Chevs in the Top 10 so we have a hope. Unfortunately the Chevs rose to the top and Brodie Kostecki got pole which we didn’t mind as he has been doing very well.

Back to the camper for late drinks at 6.45pm. Late dinner then bed. Tomorrow we have to be up an hour earlier as they want the gates to open at 6am not 7am and Steve’s gate opens at 5.30 for the Supercar Members to get in first.
