Rain
overnight. Clear sky now, 20 degrees. The weather changes so quickly in Tassie.
Text
from Leanne & Rick who are back on the mainland. Great morning chatting
with Calliope couple about travelling West Australia. Had lunch then packed up. Beautiful day,
quite warm too.
Onto
the Motorway, Steve upset, a small motorhome towing a car passed him on the
flat!! Heading to Evandale to park overnight so we can go into Launceston and
sort out the radiator and rims. This would be the longest drive we have done
with the van since arriving in Tassie, over 120km in one hit. Still have heaps
to check out around Devonport but we can do that when we come back to get on
the boat – sometime!!
Drove
into Evandale and there were cars everywhere. It is a public holiday and I
forgot they were having an arts festival so the RV stop was full of cars so we
had to find a spot to turn round and then back through the narrow road, lined
with cars to head back to Launceston. Headed to Norwood to Old Mac’s Farm.
Through the suburbs, up a narrow street and then down into a large open area
with lakes. It was amazing.
As
we pulled in to ask one of the vanners about where to park another chap said hi
– it was Danny who we met at Lake Meadowbank. They had just arrived too.
Found
a nice spot beside one of the lakes.
Made
a cuppa and enjoyed watching the resident swans and ducks bob up and down
feeding.
I
thought there must have been a bee hive nearby but it turned out to be European
Wasps. Ian the owner was laying out baits to try and get rid of them. Covered
up our drinks because if you swallow one they keep stinging. Grabbed a drink
and some nibbles we joined Danny and Chris from Queensland.
Leanne
& Rick range from Gundagai heading to Sydney to join their cruise to the
islands for 8 days – what a way to finish a holiday.
Great
arvo sitting outside. Such a change to be able to be out till 7pm and not be
freezing.
Rang
Mick in Bridport to say hi and that we are heading his way. Pete & Penny
texted they are heading to the west again with 3 weeks left till they head back
to the mainland too.
Nicer
night not being so cold.
