Sun, 18th Sept, 2016 Visitor Centre carpark, Newman, WA

Not too bad a night’s sleep. A couple of cars zoomed bye yelling out from the pub across the road but otherwise it was good.

Had a look online to see how Malcolm had gone with his racing – not good by the results which is sad as his car was flying.

Due to the time difference the V8s started at 9.30am here so we settled in for the day. Great racing with lots of excitement with drizzly rain and the fact the race was shortened due to a terrible crash on the first lap. After it was over we rang Lou to discuss it. He is a very busy boy at the moment – should be slowing down not getting busier!!

Paid for another night in the carpark and paid for me to go on the mine tour tomorrow. Got $5 using my National Seniors card so it has been worth having. Went into the fenced area to check out the other truck, digger and drilling rig.

Also an old steam engine.

There are little cabins in here too that people can stay in overnight. A pretty flower too.

A drill head onto of a time capsule that will be opened next year.

The other van left so we are alone tonight in the carpark but it is very quiet except when the mine’s shift change happens at 6pm and 6am!!
