Wed, 21st Sept, 2016 Bush camp near Goodin Mine, WA

7.30am 17 degrees and windy.

Leanne & Rick rang for a chat. Getting ready to head towards Bathurst. Will miss not being there with them this year.

Did some more detecting. Tried different clothes but it wasn’t that. It is definitely a friction thing against the side of the detector where the earphone jack is. I will have to try and hold it differently but I rang the company and said we will drop it in to be looked at. I got one more bit off Jeff’s patch then Steve went for a wander with it while I chatted with Rebecca and Clive. He came back with two more bits.

Drove across to where Steve had found a patch last time and we found a bit each there – he had done a good job. Someone else has been here too dragging a chain behind them.

Tried another dry blown area and we picked up a few bits.

Back to the van, 28 degrees at 5pm. I ended up with 0.81g and Steve 0.54g which is a bit sad.

Much nicer evening by the fire enjoying the stars and peaceful surroundings.

Jon texted to say bring our detectors home as the dam is now closed to skiing as it is down to 47% and falling so there might be interesting things to find. He had a nice day there before it closed – Bandit even did a 360 on the disc with him. Will be a hot summer with no dam to ski on – they will be hoping for a very wet summer then.
