Wed, 11th Apr, 2018 Bush camp, 120km north of Laverton, WA

7.30 am 18.5 degrees, clear sky and strong cold easterly wind.

Wandered over the scrapes nearby. I found a rock specimen which Steve broke up and inside was a nice 0.16 nuglet. I had an ironstone rock from yesterday that had gold bits in it.

Steve went for a big walk swinging his detector – trying to lose some weight!!

A front end loader rumbled by – must be a mining lease active near here.

3pm 29 degrees, lovely temp – rest time. Caught up on my blog.

Steve got firewood ready for camp oven dinner.

We walked down the track to check out the windmill and old camp. What a mess. The windmill should be pumping water into the tank for the cattle but something has broken at the top so it only goes clunk instead. The poor cattle are standing around waiting!!

A lady in a mining company ute drove up. She was going down to pick up the chap in the front end loader. They work for Regis Resources who have a lot of leases around here.

Clear sky for dinner under the stars with lots of satellites and falling stars entertaining us.

Getting cooler quicker now so we are sitting a lot closer to the fire than we were the last week!!

Closed up the van as it is quite chilly. Heard some dingoes howl in the distance.
