Wed, 18th Apr, 2018 Bush camp, near Minara (between Leonora & Laverton), WA

7am 20.7 degrees, clear sky.

Steve went detecting while I caught up on my blog. Very still morning.

Steve found two families detecting on the pending area near the road. They said they had just had a visit from the Mines Dept checking they knew where they were – luckily they did and they were on pending ground.

Back for lunch with an empty jar!!

Steve drove off to check out another pending area which had a historical mine shaft while I sorted out our clothes cupboards – thinking of what we need to have in the truck for our big trip.

Linda and Dianne have been chatting on Facebook about our great grandfather Frederick William Windle. His first wife died in Perth so we chatted via text about how and why and how to find out more information about her.

The wind has come up quite gusty. Quite warm today 35.4 degrees at 3pm.

Steve came back with a tiny little nuglet – well at least it is better than nothing.

Warmer night so the flies are still annoying while we are having our drinks around the fire. Tried the vegies in alfoil straight on the coals (we usually put them in the camp oven or the bush cooker but we aren’t taking either with us on the desert trip) – they were delicious.

Spotted one satellite before heading indoors to see what we were up to 2 years ago – our nightly thing – we watch the photos I took on the TV – we were on the Nullabor checking out Eyre Telegraph Station which is now a bird observatory.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
