A
few clouds to start the day – where is our beautiful sunshine!! Forgotten how
noisy Reservoir Road has gotten but had a good night sleep listening to the
Curlews – I do love their calls.
Put
on a strappy dress but must admit I needed a light cardigan too. Got the keys
to Mum & Dad’s new Corella – nice but low – banged my head getting in!!
Down
past Trinity Bay – they have put the divider fence in the medium strip to stop
the kids running straight through the four lanes of traffic and make them use
the crossing lights. The new Year 7 building looks impressive. Will see the
girls soon and check it all out. Along Aumuller Street and they have taken out
all the big trees and widened it and at last fixed the Gatton St intersection.
Much better though it was said to lose the old trees.
Into
Department of Transport to get new licences. Mine doesn’t expire till April
next year and Steve in August 2017 but we wanted to get the new card one so we
don’t have to come back into Queensland to do it then. Unfortunately the
computer can’t do that and she said we will just have get a WA licence if we
are there and then transfer back when we come back. Luckily the lady beside her
said there was another way – surrender our licence and get a new licence from
today. The unused time paid for on the licences actually came off the cost of
the new one so we got it cheaper and all sorted. They should arrive in two
weeks.
It
has warmed up a lot so no cardigan needed now!! Should be a top of 27 degrees
today. The sun has come out and it is going to be a beautiful day. Dropped into
the bank to sort out finances then around to Pinks for a cuppa. No cappuccino
though as the machine as stopped – will have to get that fixed – Steve will see
Brian. Called into Jon’s to pick up mail and met Bandit – he is a very cute dog
and very friendly.
Steve
dropped me into town to meet Kaylene, Wendy and Andrea for lunch at a crepe
café. So great to see them again, though I don’t feel like I have left. Chatted
away then Andrea realised she didn’t get a ticket from the machine for her
parking – that could be a $44 fine but luckily she didn’t get one!! Went back
to Central and I bought a new belt and we had a wander around.
Kaylene
dropped me back home. Took a photo of our home for the next month and the
Petria growing on the trellis.
My
orchid that Brian gave me years ago is in bloom.
Grabbed
Dad’s car and headed back into town. Met Kaylene for a walk along the Esplanade
with her friend Sue. Kaylene’s mum, Dawn, is up from Melbourne and we had a
chat as she rested in the car while we walked.
Jon
texted for me to call in which I did. Sadly to tell me that he and Tash had
split. She hasn’t been honest with him unfortunately. Gave him a cuddle and he
will come up later with Bandit. So hard to see them hurt.
Dan
had come up to home for dinner. So wonderful to see him and so proud of my two
boys. Jon and Bandit arrived for dessert and we all had a great night chatting
and of course playing with Bandit.
