15
months on the road and it is another lovely sunny morning though chillier this
morning, only 14 degrees in the van but the days warm up nicely.
Water
is up over the rock again – must be making power and letting the water through
the turbines.
The
Under Bridge Inspections crew are here to check on the bridge. I watched him
put down the legs on the truck in the paddock near us then heard his generator
going – thought it was funny to be working so far from the bridge but he was
actually making toasted sandwiches for morning tea!! I laughed and he waved and
said there is hot dogs for lunch. They got on with their work – interesting watching
the truck on the bridge with the big arm reaching over and down under the
bridge for the workers to look at and repair the bridge from underneath.
I
did the washing and then Steve used the water to watch the truck and van. Mind you we do have a whole river beside us!!
After
lunch he coloured my hair – got to keep those greys at bay!!
Into
Corryong to top up with fuel before heading off tomorrow to drive down a
different direction to get to the source of the Murray. I rang Tuckshop and
chatted with Wendy and Rochelle as they were finishing up for the day. Last
week of school for the Seniors – how the year has flown.
Back
to the van and the water has risen again covering my rocks.
Steve
spotted a big fish making its way up through the shallower rocky area – couldn’t
make out if it was a trout or a carp. Someone caught a carp under the bridge
and left it there as they are a bad introduced species.
Rang
Erica, Mum then Rebecca for a chat. Everyone is well which is wonderful. Dan
texted back at long last – he had busted his phone.
Went
for a walk after tea, 8.30pm to see if we could see the platypus where Erica
said but nothing moving in the water. The level had dropped a lot now, well
below my rocks – will see what it looks like in the morning.
