Mon, 6th June, 2016 Bilyuin Pool, Murchison River, 74km N of Meekatharra to 25 Mile Well, N of Meekatharra, WA

7.30am 20.7 degrees in the closed up van. More rain in the early morning though I don’t think there was much during the night.

It stopped about 8.30 so sat under the awning for breakfast as there was no wind and it was nice looking over the waterhole watching the birds dive for fish. Nice green parrots and very plumb Willy Wagtails.

Sandra had texted she was home so rang her for a chat about her trip to Melbourne etc.

The sun is peeking through the clouds so we packed up and headed back to the highway. Jeff and Lyn went straight into Meeka while we stopped at the 25 Mile Well for lunch. Decided to stay here for the night so moved closer to the fence line to get away from the highway. Ground is firm and it hasn’t rained for a bit. Steve tried out the electric fence – it works!!

Made some Anzac Cookies and rang Mum and Dad for a chat. Steve tried Charles again but he had visitors so he will ring us back.

A camper trailer pulled in and set up in the late afternoon. We got the DVD player working – needed a good thump and watched the two DVDs Lyn leant us – Outback Australia with Glenn Ridge then we watched 4WD Action through the Simpson Desert and Fraser Island.

The rain is back but we are all cosy in the van.
