Sat, 4th June, 2016 ‘Belly Plate Camp’, near Goodin Mine, 93km NE of Meekatharra to Bilyuin Pool, Murchison River, 74km NE of Meekatharra, WA

7.30am 21degrees in the van. Overcast with a cold wind.

Packed up and headed back to the highway. Drove back towards Meeka then turned off to the west and crossed the floodway at the headwaters of the Murchison River. Drove down 1km to Bilyuin Pool. The cattle like it here.

Chatted with a couple from Burpengary, near Brisbane.

Drove further down the pool and found a nice spot as misty rain started.

Steve went into his corner cupboard to get a long-sleeved shirt and found lots of dust so got out the silicon and sealed up the cupboard as the dust is coming in around the fridge.

Only got to 22 degrees in the van with it all closed up as the misty rain got heavier. Miserable and cold outside. Put the rain catcher on and filled a bucket till the awning was clear then ran the water into the water tank.

Quiet afternoon in the van reading as the rain fell. I can get reception here so went onto the BoM site to check the radar. Showed rain on the coast but not over us!! The east coast is getting lots of wild weather and rain.

Tried ringing Charles but no answer. Rang Mike in Tassie and he said the weather was wild down there too. Chatted about their trip to Palmer River in July.

No fire tonight!!
