Tues, 7th Feb, 2017 Betty’s Beach Campground, east of Albany, WA

7am 22 degrees with the van closed up. Still windy but sun peeking through the clouds.

Another van parked where we were. Steve chatted with Pete and his wife, her father owns the shack. Steve found out how they put out the nets and used winches on the beaches to pull in the nets of salmon.

Warmed up nicely, 28 degrees!! Then the wind changed direction and by 3pm big black clouds were coming over. Then the rain started – actual rain not the misty drizzle they usually call rain.

Steve put out a bucket and it quickly filled up with the water from the awning.

After the rain stopped we went for a walk to the beach as the dolphins were in close.

One had jumped out of the water but I only managed to get a photo of a couple of fins!!

Rang Mum and Dad for a chat – they have had good monsoon rain there and Copperlode Dam is full and Tinaroo Dam is filling up. She said the pictures of the Barron Falls were amazing.

The wind kept up and more clouds came over so we folding in the awning so it wouldn’t flap all night.
