Clear

Sent
Tenille a text for her birthday.
Had
arrange to meet up with Judy and Richard in the city for lunch so we headed
into Maddington to the railway station. Got out tickets and had a nice ride
into the city. Passed the new Stadium that is open to visitors (had to get a
free ticket) this weekend.
Nice
grounds around it. Unfortunately they haven’t finished the footbridge yet. The
first game is due soon there. They are talking of restricting it to 40,000
people as they don’t think the public transport can handle the 60,000 it can
hold. If the footbridge was ready then a lot of people could park on the other
side and walk across. How’s that for bad management!!
Great
bit of art as we head into Perth Station.
Outside
the station we walked to one end of it.
More
interesting art across the road.
Turned
right and up and over the railway station.
Lovely
old lampposts on the other side as we head into Northbridge restaurant
precinct.
Brass
Monkey Hotel.
Met
Judy and Richard at the Outback Jack’s.
I
decided on the Game Platter with kangaroo, crocodile, emu, buffalo, camel and
wild boar. It was an entrée and very nice. The others had ribs or steak. Big
meals so I pinched some of their chips etc.
Richard
had been to the US last year and gave Steve a medallion of a fighter jet he got
to sit in. They had a great chat about that while Judy and I caught up on news.
Walked
around to a gelato store and finished off with a delicious salted caramel
gelato. Wandered back over the railway station and up to the malls for a look
around. Great sculptures in the malls.
Said
bye to them at the Perth Underground as they catch the train north then we
walked back to Forrest Square for a coffee then onto the train back to
Maddington.
Tom
and Sandy were over at Dave and Cheryl’s for drinks so we joined them. Cheryl
gave us a guided tour of their big bus Dave refurbished and then all they
‘collections’. Dave’s mother had collected dolls and now they are displayed in
a special room – nearly as many as Wendy Blue’s mothers. Cheryl has also
collected dolls but much older ones. She also has display cabinets filled with
all kinds of great items – so many different things. Dave’s passion is bottles
and between them they do very well with their finds. They have displayed them
all very well.
Back
to the vans for dinner then a couple of games of Skipbo before the wind came up
very strongly. Happens a lot here. Finished with a few games of Dice. They were
nearly blown off the table too. Still quite warm even with the wind.
