Wed, 24th Jan, 2018 Viveash Reserve, north of Northam, WA

7.30am 23 degrees, clouds over the sun, cool breeze.

Flocks of corellas are squawking reminding us of our time on the River Murray. As they flew over they pushed the wind that we could hear the sound of the wind over their wings. Heard it with a pelican too.

We can hear sheep but can’t see them on the other side of the river. The trains continue back and forth.

I worked on my blog then read for a bit. Started Kimberley Sun by Di Morrissey which is about the pearl industry in Broome – a sequel to her Tears of the Moon.

Steve just relaxed though he did change the water filler pipe on the truck.

33 degrees at lunchtime.

Clouded over after smoko. Had drinks enjoying the river view then went for a walk across the bridge – upstream then downstream views.

Our van hiding behind the trees.

Along the dirt road to Wilkerson Park to check out an old church and cemetery.

Two plaques on the picnic table.

A flagpole to remember another member of the Wilkerson family.

Info about St Saviour’s Church built 1862.

Lots of old graves in the cemetery.

Chatted with the other couple for a bit. Found this plaque for a chap who drowned as a competitor in the 1991 Avon Descent – so sad.

Saving lots of gas with the cold showers as the water is warmed in the pipes by the sun!!

Clear sky at 10pm – lots of stars twinkling.
