The
wind blew all night. 7am 22.6 degrees,
clear sky and a cool wind.
We
shifted the generator to the other side of the shower block – much quieter.
Headed
off towards Leonora to sort out a couple of things. Romin Kings P/L have an exploration lease on our way back to the highway and a drill team was working.
We stopped to say we are the caretakers here in case they need anything and so
they know we will be driving around.
Stopped
at the Mines Department to get some maps printed off of the area so Steve can
work out where he wants to detect. Met a Victorian couple, Brett and Kat, who
started travelling 2 years ago and ended up staying at Leonora prospecting.
They have leases and had a tourist sideline, taking people out for a detect or
teaching learners what to do etc.
Jon
rang saying he was sad as he was taking his Malloo ute for its last drive
before he sells it. Sad when one thing finishes but new experiences will happen
and it was save him a lot of money, rego and insurance wise.
Back
up to the homestead – remembered to take a photo of the upside down plane.
Picked
up the spare ute as Rob has been delayed in Perth with the ute he has for us to
use. Steve put the fuel pod in the back and topped it and some jerry cans up so
we have plenty of fuel for the generator and for the ute to do the bore runs.
Collected some other bits and pieces we needed for repairs etc. Kym took me
through the online ordering for Woolies and Coles so we can order our food then
drive to Kalgoorlie and just pick it up. We get groceries and fuel supplied
which is a huge bonus to us.
Headed
back via the King of the Hill mine and spotted a few goats wandering around.
Cooler
day with a light breeze now. Back home in time for a cuppa. I worked on my ‘food’
order – takes a bit of thinking but you can have both shops up online and
compare the prices which is good. Just Right is half-price so buying up on
those for Steve.
Rang
Margaret and Bob who are now in Port Hedland. They will call and see us as they
return home before Christmas.
9pm
29 degrees – lovely.
