Thurs, 29th Nov, 2018 Outback Accommodation, Sandstone, WA

7am 28 degrees, clear sky and gusty wind.

Chris and Mickey headed off early with the two dogs. I have 4 chooks (only 2 are laying) and the cockatiels to feed.

The two guest left so I stripped the beds and put on the washing. Then cleaned the rooms and following Christine’s teaching shaped the end of the toilet paper!!

Hot dry wind so the washing didn’t take long to dry so remade the beds and it all looks neat and tidy again.

Steve is looking after the sprinklers as it is bore water so he had to check the tank is full and top it up etc. Also they have a bio-something system, uses all the grey and black water, which goes onto some of the garden beds.

Put on the air conditioning and checked out Foxtel – all though channels but there wasn’t much we wanted to watch. Steve found the Aussie Prospectors so watched few of those. It showed a chap working out near Leonora and showed a chap, Darren, who was doing mustering out there which is the name of the chap who had Tarmoola Station where we are going.

Rang the Tuckshop girls to say hello as a photo of 2 years ago for today showed Dot and myself with a Christmas cake at Tuckshop. Their air conditioner is working well thank goodness as they said it was so hot. Looking forward to the school holiday break.

After lunch rang Rebecca and Clive to congratulate them on their little grand daughter, Ava, and to hear about their trip to PNG. They got to see a volcano spewing out some ash etc – luckily they weren’t too close. They head to NZ Friday next week to see Ava.

Rang Mum for a nice long chat. All good. Val better after getting the fluid out of her system.

3pm 40 degrees in the van but we are nice and comfortable 25 degrees in the house with the air conditioner on!!

Saw all the fires on the news which we haven’t seen in a long time. Rang Erica and Terry to make sure they were ok.

Lots of photos on Facebook about the fires and Lyn and Jeff had commented they had a close call in Rockhampton with the fires getting close.

Dinner watching TV – getting a good dose as we probably won’t have this luxury in the next place.
