4am
– woke to thunder and lightning. Magnificent strikes. A few drops of rain fell
so closed the top hatches but left the windows wide open.
7am
24.5 degrees, thunder rumbling and dark clouds around us. The lightning strikes
are still visible and truly amazing to watch. Drops of rain here and there then
the storm came right over the top of us with a couple of very loud claps of
thunder then a good drop of rain fell. The storm then headed east.
Listened
to Macca on ABC radio. A lady rang in from Mackay asking for prayers for rain
there to stop the fires. We rang Jeff in Rockhampton to see how they were
faring – all ok. Hopefully they should get rain by Tuesday.
Rang
Uncle John for a chat. He had just got off the phone to Mum. Jocelyn is doing
really well except for the deafness and dementia. John is ‘keeping on’ as he
says.
Rang
Joy. Kayla was very excited in the background as they had just finished
painting and decorating her bedroom. The hen’s other eggs were rejected and
little white chick got a gash in her tummy so she died. Only the little brown
chick is left – hope it doesn’t end up being a rooster after all of this.
Very
windy morning. Wendy texted that she will ring me Tuesday night for a chat as
she is flat out trying to finish sewing a ‘onesie’ for Sarah for Christmas and
a friend is heading over to her so she has to get it done soon. Sarah will need
it fur lined as she will be enjoying a very white Christmas in Canada. One day
I will get there.
Played
three games of Rummykub and I got 2 wins – yeah.
After
lunch the dark clouds came back over. A few rumbles of thunder and a few drops
of rain but then it moved on.
Watched
the 4x4 shows on Foxtel then cleaned up the leaves near the shed. Only trouble
with the lovely gum trees is all the leaves they drop. Put the sprinklers on as
there hasn’t been enough rain to keep the lawns green.
We
were going to go to London Bridge for sunset but there is still a thick band of
cloud in the west so we will try tomorrow night.
Leftovers
for dinner and some more TV series.
NO
PHOTOS TODAY.
