7am
28 degrees, light breeze, clear sky. The cattle are wandering close to ‘our’
green grass!! We seem to be seeing a lot more lately since we haven’t had any
more rain they are hanging around the water troughs more.
Off
for a detect again – only one tiny bit for me. Not doing too well but we are
enjoying ourselves.
Got
a message from Ceri that the fuel will be delivered at the homestead but we
don’t have to go down to sign for it. Had a lovely chat with her and I said
about the cattle being about and that a lot of them are males. She said to take
photos and send to her so she can see what they will need to take off.
38
degrees at lunch – so glad we have our pool and it is still cool from the
cooler night. Temps going to climb again into the 40s over the next few days.
The
water tank is overflowing so we put the sprinkler on to try and keep the grass
green. Cedric, the bigger goanna, wandered by and had a nice bath. He laid his
head sidewards and lapped up the water off the concrete – I need to put a bowl
out for him!!
Erica
rang – Maree had her hip repaired and is recovering well. She will be 90 on 2nd
April – we share the same birthday. Hope she gets to enjoy her 90th
and heals well from the operation.
The
heat on the Hema as we drive along is bad hence we have had a cap over the top
of it to try and reduce the heat. I decided to create a new cover so made a
template from cardboard then left Steve to finish off the job. He had some
special board and did a great job. When we are parked we always put up the
silver screen to try and keep out the heat.
The
cattle came in for a drink so I wandered over to take some photos – some just
stood still and others bolted.
I
like this black and white one.
Kym
and Glen heading back from Kal so we drove down to meet them and collect our
groceries. Steve also got more fencing wire, star pickets etc to finish off the
remaining enclosures.
Back
home for late drinks in the pool, 33 degrees still and the coldness has gone
from the water after the hot day.
Cooked
dinner – fresh corn on the cob to go with sausages and omelette, have lots of
eggs to eat.
Enjoying
‘Banshee’, the new series we are watching.
