Thurs, 3rd Jan, 2019 10 Mile Outcamp, Tarmoola Station, 60km north of Leonora, WA

8am 28 degrees, light cool south-east breeze, so lovely for a change.

Sent Kaylene and Rick a text wishing them happiness for their wedding anniversary.

Nice morning with the cool breeze. Steve put a drum over Glen’s Bore head and secured it with star pickets as it is away from the enclosure fence we are putting up.

Lunch in the pool. 39 degrees.

I worked on a new jigsaw, only 300 pieces. Still working on the other 1000 piece one but they are very small pieces so it is a bit more tedious.

Steve pulled out an old fan from one of the dead cars at the dump and that worked well on it esky air conditioner – quieter too but he had to connect that to a battery. We have heaps of frozen water bottles to put in the esky to blow the cool air over us. As we turn off the generator at night we usually put the frozen bottles in the fridge to keep it happy.

I finished my jigsaw – nice one of rabbits.

Steve went for a wander with his detector but came back empty-handed. Erica rang while we having a drink. They had a wonderful New Year at Woodgate with everyone. Sad new though as her eldest sister Maree had a fall and looks like she has fractured her hip. They are sending her to Bundaberg so Erica will see her there. Her daughter Robyn is with her.

Had dinner on the verandah listening to the cattle moan and groan or is that ‘lowing’, as they wander in for a drink and nibble on the hay.

Into the van for a movie. Steve filled the esky with ice bottles and we enjoyed the movie with the cool breeze blowing on us – well done Steve.
