Tues, 1st Jan, 2019 10 Mile Outcamp, Tarmoola Station, 60km north of Leonora, WA

Got home at 1am – no cattle on road, just a couple of road trains from the mines going about their business. The strong north wind is blowing hard so we don’t need the fans though it is still 35 degrees in the van.

7am 35 degrees, clear sky. I did some computer stuff then we had a cuppa in our pool. The north wind has changed to north west and is still hot.

After lunch we did the bore run. Steve had found some fencing wire so we enclosed North Well after scaring off the rabbit who was keeping himself cool by the tank.

We unrolled the wire at the next ones and just hooked it over the star pickets to do the next time. One fence is enough on a hot day like today.

Home in time for drinks in the pool with ice blocks in it. 5pm 43 degrees.

Kev rang to wish us happy new year which was lovely as last year we were celebrating with him and Linda in Bunbury.

Dinner on the verandah with the sprinkler cooling us down.

Mum and Dad rang to wish us happy new year too. Cyclone Penny crossed the coast over Weipa and will go out into the Coral Sea now and probably reform.

Our evaporative fan has decided it doesn’t want to put the water up over the fins so it is just blowing hot air now – just when we need it. Steve will put it apart tomorrow.

Breezy still but with the fan on it is comfortable enough to sleep.
