Minimum of 13 degrees, clear sky and light wind. Up to 16 degrees when we got up at 7.30am. Another month since Dad departed this world.
Did our washing and chatted with a couple, Mark & Sigrid, who remembered us from the camping area near Hammersley Gorge. They were walking on the 4WD track and we stopped for a quick chat.
Into town to the Op Shop to get some more books and then around to the markets at the Civic Centre. Lots of interesting arts and crafts - all local which was lovely. A lady was playing the Sax outside - she was great and a chap was playing an organ inside where the food area was. He was playing the old classics. We got a cuppa and some tiny pancakes which were yummy. The chap started playing songs from The Sound of Music which brought on the tears as that was one of Mum & Dad’s favourite musicals. We checked out all the different goat meat packs including some made up in sauces etc. They also make and sell it in pies so we bought two in Moroccan sauce to have for lunch. Got some fresh vegies too.
Very nice today with only a light breeze so it warmed up by lunch time. We went to walk back along the waterfront but stopped to see if a couple with their bonnet up were ok. They had a Nissan like ours and he said that they had been limping along so he bought a fuel filter and was trying to change it. Not mechanically minded so Steve gave him some advice and they got it changed and the car started again. Steve said if it continues to get the Common Rail checked as that was what our problem was in NT. They were most grateful for the help and advice. Hopefully they will get back to Perth with no further problems.
We continued with our walk. Couldn’t remember if I photographed this last time to took it anyway. We walked along the path lined with plaques of all those lost in the sinking of the HMAS Sydney II.
Back to the van park and Steve reheated our pies while I got the washing off. Very nice though the sauce covered up the actual taste of the goat meat. Should have got some plain steaks to try.
Into the shed ready to watch the Top Ten Shootout. I sent off texts to the Bathurst boys as who was going to get pole etc but when we put the TV on we found out it was pouring with rain and in the end they had to cancel having the shootout as it was too wet. Therefore the positions stayed as per qualifying yesterday so Ford was on pole. Yeah.
Leanne texted about Bathurst so I rang her back and had a lovely chat. They had a great trip back to Tassie (where we first met them).
I rang Susan and Ross too as they are on the Murray River and having a wonderful time.
We joined Mark and Sigrid for drinks and chatted till the sun went down.
