Another cool morning, 16 degrees, clear sky. I did my baking but I forgot to put the bicarb mix in the butter and my Anzacs turned into little hard balls!! Oh well at least the date slice is yummy.
We settled in to watch the first race of the new Gen 3 Supercars for this year at Newcastle. Ian was watching too so we rang for a chat. Louis sent texts as he was watching too. The new cars were good and survived the tight street circuit so the developers are very happy with the new cars design.
Rang Terry - Erica was brighter.
We packed up and headed down the coast to Sorrento. We parked near Hillary’s Boat Harbour and went for a walk as we were too early to head across to Judy and Richard’s place. Wandered around checking out the shops and watching everyone enjoying the protected swimming area and beach and there was a big blow up water park which the kids were enjoying.
Jon sent a video and picture of the water bore they have just done on the Tanami Track in NT.
Back to the truck then inland to Judy and Richard’s place. So lovely to see them again. Josh was home too which was nice to see him as he will be heading to Melbourne soon to live. Emily was a work so we missed seeing her. Richard gave me a lovely jade buddha necklace and a jade ring to give to Greg that he brought back from Burma (where his family is from). We had a lovely evening chatting over home-made pizzas.
Programmed ‘girlie’ to take us back to Tom and Sandy’s for the night but she didn’t know about the middle of the freeway and we missed the turn off onto the Tonkin Highway so we had to go on a bit till we could turn around and head back - silly ‘girlie’. Lucky we knew which highway we needed to be on! We made it back to the house and parked up again for the night. They come home on the 13th so we will come back and spend a few days with them in a couple of weeks to say thanks. Lovely big low moon had just risen.
