Sat, 9th Mar, 2024 Jon & Annalise’s place, Cairns, Qld (Sophia Joy Geck)

Uncle John turns 96 today. Tried ringing but no answer so left him as message. So glad we got to spend some time with him in January.

More rain!

Daniel texted that Fran’s water has broken so things might happen soon.

Unfortunately things weren’t ok so doctors decided to do a Caesarean Section. I spoke to them both just before they headed up to theatre. Dan went in too. He has come a long way from a boy who would faint at sight of blood!

A beautiful little girl was born at 12.12pm, 42cm - Sophia Joy Geck, our first grandchild. She is so tiny, 5lb (2.6kg) but is doing ok.

Daniel sent us a photo - she is adorable. Can’t wait for a cuddle.

Fran sent a photo of ‘amazing daddy’.

Will go up tomorrow as Fran had lots of visitors already and I know what it’s like to cope with a Caesar!

The rain continued on and off all day. I am making progress with the backstitch now on the babies’ cross-stitches. Hope I get them finished before we leave or they won’t get them till they are 1, haha.

Jon has been on the hunt for something leaving poos in his carport. I said a toad and he said maybe but there is also another poo with a white tip and that’s a reptile according to google, so he thinks ‘snake’. He started searching and found a huge toad in an old golf bag so we disposed of him!

Rang Terry to congratulate him on becoming a Great Grandad to Sophia. He is very chuffed.
