Showers through the night - overcast this morning, 26 degrees.
More rain as we packed up. Said thanks to Dale and headed off at 8.30am. Realised that wasn’t a good time as we got stuck in the morning school time traffic and the rain was heavy.
Rain continued for a long while then it was on and off showers. Very wet before Proserpine - one creek was just under the bridge.
The sky became brighter as we neared Bowen.
Stopped for lunch and topped up with fuel at Guthalungra ($1.939/L). The little places seem to have the cheaper prices so the Fuel App is very helpful.
The Burdekin River is flowing well.
Into Ayr to visit Greg & Kristine at their new home. Very nice and handy to be close to their daughter and her family on their farm near here. Had a great time catching up.
Continued on with the sun shining through the clouds - still a lot of water laying about in the cane fields etc.
I have noticed a lot of Alligator Creeks in our travels and I think we have seen 3 so far in Qld! Easy drive north now the road works are finished. Onto the ring road around Townsville which has made things so much better.
Pulled into Bluewater rest area for the night. Only a couple of campers here which is unusual.
Very wet - must have just had a shower. Hot and humid as we set up but we aren’t complaining as we prefer to be hot then cold but I can do without the sticky humid bit.
Shower of rain which then got heavier as thunder rumbled and lightning flashed. The storm had moved on by the time we went to bed so we open up the windows again.
