Farewell

3pm Set up the van near the northern end of the Esplanade and set up afternoon tea. The weather was perfect despite the weather bureau’s rain and storm warnings!! Family and friends came to make sure we headed off. They were glad we left as the sandflies were making themselves present and we left at 4.30pm with the tears flowing (well for me and mum at least). Jon had some t-shirts printed with our names and TWO GECKOS TRAVELLING on the back – very cute. Dan brought flowers and a game and some QuickFix glue!!! Mum had knitted us a scarf each for the southern weather. Rebecca & Clive got us some flags for our aerial when we will be going over sanddunes - and I can where them too if I run out of knickers!!!
