Sat, 23rd Aug, 2014 Woodgate

A bit of sunshine this morning and not as cold, so got Steve up for a walk along the Esplanade. The sea was calm and 3 dolphins slowly worked their way along the beach – should have brought the camera. A big kangaroo was lazily laying in the greenery on top of a sand dune too. Lots of kangaroos here. Said hi to Anne & Alby next door.

Spent the morning doing the washing while I had Erica’s bigger washing machine to use and a bit of sunshine. Got sheets and towels dry and hung out the clothes then the clouds rolled in and down came the rain. Off the line and under the house with the clothes.

Erica gave me the 3 cut glass pendants that her friend cut for us from the glass from Millaa Millaa house. He had cut a large one for mum and dad so us kids asked for a keepsake too.

Brenda & Philip and Dulcie called in for a cuppa. Gregory Grout, a cousin of Terry’s, arrived and a lot of stories about the family in the area of Musket Flat were told.

Got out our TV and hard drive recorder from home and set it up for Erica and Terry. Just in time to watch the V8 supercars in Sydney. It was raining there too and it was two crazy races in the rain.

Wind came up and during a break in the rain we wandered down the street to the Bowls Club for Steve’s birthday dinner.
