Thurs, 28th Aug, 2014 Petrie to Joyner

Big drive this morning – one suburb away to Murrumba Downs to visit Toni, that I am co-authoring a book on our ancestor, John Fogg (a convict), his family and all his descendants. Toni has the hard bit researching the history and I was contacting the descendants to update their families etc. Forgot to get a photo!!!

Another big drive !!! back through Petrie to Lake Samsonvale to have lunch by the water at Bullocky Rest. Plenty of birds wanting a feed and lovely black swans and ducks on the water.

Then around the corner to Steve’s cousin, Gary & Julie’s place at Joyner for the night.

Just missed seeing a koala in the tree in their back yard because some “do-gooders” saw it and thought it had a problem to took it out of the tree and released it elsewhere and there was nothing wrong with it. Took a photo of the tree anyway. On the otherside of the fence is a very busy road. Amazing the koala comes there regularly.

Gary restores old Triumph motorbikes so his shed was a treasure trove.

Gary & Julie took us for a drive to Clear Mountain which had just had a bushfire two weeks ago. The view was fantastic. Looked back down over Lake Samsonvale where we had had lunch,

and to Brisbane.

Gary & Julie’s daughters, Cherie & Nicole were home – Erin was housesitting elsewhere. Great to see them again.

Have a lovely photo of Daniel and Nicole playing the organ together when they were 2, at Woodgate. Wonderful dinner with them all and Cherie’s boyfriend, Pat.
