7.30am
9.6 degrees in van. Cloudy sky but starting to clear. Mum and Dad rang for a
chat and to say Diane was back in hospital after her op, so I sent off a text
to Chris wishing her a speedy recovery.
After
our morning cuppa with Joc and John we headed down to Janet’s house at
Sorrento. Nice little place near the west side of the Peninsula so only a short
walk down to Koonya Ocean Beach.
She
has just had a new heater put in which was warming up the house nicely. Steve’s
trying to work out how he can put one in the van!!
Roz
arrived and we all enjoyed a lovely lunch. Left Joc to read by the fire as we
headed down through the dunes to Koonya Beach. Not much of a breeze so it is
actually not too cold. Didn’t put the thermals on today.
Huge
rock ledges jut out.
Spectacular
view all the way back up to Cape Schanck that we were near yesterday. You can
just make out the lighthouse.
Roz
had her phone camera snapping.
Wandered
along the coastline down to the beach. I’m just as bad as Roz with the amount
of photos I take.
Loved
watching the waves rise up and over the rock ledges then the watering pouring
off it again like hundreds of waterfalls with little blow holes as well.
Even
some crazy fishermen. Steve saw them catch a small fish.
Roz’s
photo is magnificent.
Out
to a point for more spectacular views.
Looking
further down the peninsula.
The
water is like a mirror today.
The
path we followed to get down here.
Koonya
Ocean Beach.
Steve
exploring a blow hole rock that would be interesting to see at high tide.
Kept
wandering along the beach.
A
couple of great spots for a dip.
Further
on a couple more fishermen trying for some gummy sharks off the beach.
Turned
off the beach and up the sand dune to a carpark and lookout.
Back
to the house for farewell to Roz till next time. We will see Janet tomorrow as
we are heading to her house in Smiths Gully in the north. John drove us back
view the Port Phillip Bay beach road. The Bay was so flat.
Great
colour in the sky as the sun starts heading down.
A
low band of thicker cloud blocked the actual sun setting.
Tried
to ring Dawn to see if she is around tomorrow as we drive past Knoxville but no
answer. Mum had said they were having family tea at Greg’s for Tim’s birthday
so gave him a call to wish him a belated 18th birthday – they are
all growing up too fast!! John dished up another delicious dinner. Has been
wonderful being with them again.
Rang
Kaylene for a chat when we got back to the van after dinner.
