Sat, 2nd July, 2016 Bush Camp, Yandal Station, NE of Leinster, WA

7am 11 degrees, heater on. Clouds are coming in from the west and it is windy.

The boys headed south to check out some spots near Lake Darlot.

I worked on the end of financial year stuff – We have travelled 23500km using 4373 litres of diesel.

Drops of rain started to fall as the sky got darker after lunch. I put up the rain catcher to drip into a bucket.

Election Day today for the Nation. I wonder how many other people travelling didn’t get their postal votes where they were staying so there might be a lot of people who didn’t actually cast a vote.

Boys back with no gold and nearly got bogged in the salt flats but Jeff kept his boot in and they got out.

I got 3 litres of water in my rain bucket – good for washing up.

Rain stopped so Steve went for a wander around the camp area and as dark descended he came back with a little 0.21g bit of gold. Slowly the tally is climbing.

No fire tonight. Watched a 4WD Action DVD and then some movies to pass the evening. Not too cold 17 degrees in the van so no need for the heater.
