13.6
degrees at 7.30am and foggy.
Rain
has eased and it started to clear during the morning. Steve wandered chatting
with other prospectors while I sorted out the Visa card and paid the truck and
van insurance.
We
decided to head up to Yakabindie Station 40km north so I rang the station owner
to ask permission and to see if they needed anything.
Sun
out by lunchtime but it is still cold.
Steve
worked on Jeff’s hot water and stove – service time!!
Rang
Judy but she was out. I chatted with Emily instead. Looking forward to catching
up with them in November.
Chatted
with some people who have just arrived in very muddy cars. They have come down
the Canning Stock Route but had lots of problems and then the rain hit and they
were in mud and everywhere was water. Poor things.
Decided
to just bite the bullet and book the airfares as the $199 ones said ‘five seats
left’ etc so we are flying home at 11.40pm on 8th Nov arriving at
6am on the 9th Nov and staying for 3 weeks till the 2nd
Dec. Looking forward to seeing all my family and friends again.
Nice
bit of colour in the sky as the sun sets and so does the temperature.
Rang
Ella for her birthday tomorrow – the last Geck grandchild to head into the
‘teens’. Had a great chat with Amanda and David too.
An
ambulance came into the park and were wandering around looking for the caller.
It turned out to be the husband of the lady who Steve was chatting with in the
laundry – poor things.
