Sat, 9th Dec, 2017 Silver Sands Resort, Mandurah, WA (Kaylene kayaking)

No thermometer here but looking out the window looks like it is clouding over.

Shane and Doreen arrived to take us for a walk along Town Beach back to their apartment. There is a storm building so the ‘need for swim’ wasn’t too great but Shane had one then we continued on through the marina.

Nice sculptures on the roundabouts.

Stopped for a cuppa at their favourite cafĂ© – interesting coffee cups.

Walked over the bridge – lovely view of the canals.

Shane cooked up a beautiful breakfast of French toast and bacon – never had that before, pancakes with yummy Baileys flavoured iced coffee – Yum yum.

We watched dolphins cruising along the Mandurah Estuary from their balcony then Shane took Kaylene for a kayak. They found two dolphins which swam around and under them so she was very excited to have experienced that.

Nearly to the other side of the Estuary.

We rang Rick to share the experience with him and everyone had a long chat with him which was wonderful.

The storm came over with a flash of lightning and a few drops of rain so Shane drove us back to the unit. We headed into the spa. Steve and Kaylene did a few laps in the big pool – I stayed in the spa. Then we headed into the sauna – dry heat one. Another session in the spa in the heated pool area then back to the unit to relax.

Drove around to Shane & Doreen’s. Their daughter, Kim, was down from Perth so she joined us as we walked around the foreshore to a restaurant for dinner. Had a great night then finished off with ice-cream on the way back to their unit.
