Sun, 26th Aug, 2018 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns, Qld

Watched the Supercars Saturday race at Tailem Bend in South Australia. A brand new track this is amazing.

Worked on my blog while Steve pottered about.

After lunch we went down to Brian’s to watch the Sunday race. Bob and Margaret joined us and Ian came over so we had a great time.

Drove up Lake Morris Road (which goes up to our water supply of Copperlode Dam) to the lookout. It is beside the creek that used to flow down behind our last house so we can see the top our house from here. A couple of chaps were picking up the rubbish with another old gent overseeing – looked like they were doing their Community Service for a crime. Targa Cairns (like Targa Tasmania) is on soon and this road is one of the stages so obviously they were cleaning it up for that. Sad to say they were busy picking up all the rubbish. I didn’t take my camera so will have to come up again and take some photos of the beautiful view across Cairns, over the Inlet and out to Green Island.

Hot day for the end of winter as it registered 31 degrees today.

Dropped Bob and Margaret home then we went to Pete and Marree’s for separate parties. The boys were at Pete’s having Blokes, Beer and BBQ and the girls were two doors down having Champagne, Chocolate and Crackers. Had a great time.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
