Lovely
temperature – few clouds about. 35 years – wow time has flown but we have had a
great time and have two wonderful sons to show for it.
We
are all hoping to catch a barramundi on Monday!!
The
prawns were all happy in their ‘home’ so we put them in a bucket and walked up
along the river to our special spot. Threw them in using our hand lines with
floats and we waited. Bob learning all about it so he can try and catch some
barra in WA.
Unfortunately
no barra came. Probably why we got good bait – no barra left in here!! Or maybe
they don’t bite on Mondays!
The
wind came up after lunch with a few more clouds. Went back to flick the lures
and Bob called out he had found a friend. A lovely big goanna. He wasn’t
worried about us quietly walking by him and posed for some photos.
Got
him with his tongue out but nearly missed it on the close up. Took a video then
another when he started walking.
Margaret
and I went further along to flick our lures then we heard a rustle behind us
and here was Mr Goanna. He had followed us.
You
can take lovely photos up here. I used to get Mum to paint them for me.
We
went to the end of this lagoon and after a while Mr Goanna joined us again. He
continued along the bank as we headed back. It was amazing how quiet he is
getting through all those leaves etc.
No
barra so we went back to camp for drinks. Gave Bob the biggest Cherubim prawns
to eat and Steve got a few more during the night to use tomorrow. Also caught a
turtle and an eel but we let them go of course.
