Sun, 2nd Sept, 2018 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns, Qld

Father’s Day. Gave Dad some chocolates and Cornetto icecreams – it is all about yummies now.

Steve filleted the fish and I bagged them. Mum reckons that is the best Father’s Day present to be having fresh fish again.

Greg and Tim called in to wish Dad a happy day. They were heading out to the Army Machinery Museum.

Steve and I visited Kaylene and Rick for afternoon tea.

Fran and Daniel had invited us to join them for Father’s Day dinner with Fran’s family at the new Hemmingway Brewery at Trinity Wharf. We had a nice spot outside so it was easier to hear as inside is very noisy. Steve got to meet Fran’s parents, Hank and Val, for the first time and some of her siblings etc. Had a great night chatting.

Went for a wander along the boardwalk as it was a lovely cool evening. We heard some drumming as we headed towards Fogarty Park and there was a Japanese Festival and some drummers were putting on a show. Amazing skill and timing as they were drumming very fast. Very exhausting too – well I was exhausted watching them.

Home for a cuppa with Mum and Dad to finish off a lovely day.
