It got cold in the early morning, 16 degrees - glad we leave our big blanket at the end of the bed.
Clear sky, no wind and heavy dew. Packed up - water dripping off the roof from the dew. Drove back out. Steve unhooked the rope ‘gate’ and hooked back up again. I sent off a thank you message to Rick for allowing us to stay. He replied and wished us well which was nice.
Back to the Gingin Brook Road then east to Gingin. Sky is quite smoky too.
Pulled into a picnic area near Gingin Brook and had breakfast. Map of where we have been and are now.
Walked down to the pool - lots of ducks and duck poo to miss as we walk. The weir has a few leaks.
Replica of the old water wheel from the flour mill near here.
Nice mural of the Black Cockatoo who are flying around here and calling out.
The north end of the Tonkin Highway starts near here but we continued south on a back road then onto the Brand Highway so we could go under the Tonkin Highway to a fuel station. Full up again and onto the Tonkin Highway now for the easy drive south on dual carriageway - Steve loves these, no stress.
Merged onto the Roe Highway then onto the Kwinana and south to Mandurah. Through town, stopped at Woolies at Falcon for a few things then over the Estuary Bridge - there is a new one being built beside it which is needed. Across the Cut and around to Bob & Margaret’s place.
Just parked straight in as we are only have a couple of days. Had a chat then lunch.
I worked on my blog etc in the afternoon while Steve got to work on putting the new oil cooler in. He wanted to try it out before getting the new lock-up to see how much difference it makes to the temperatures etc.
Cooler day here - only 29 degrees, clear sky and nice breeze. The wind picked up in the late afternoon so it was chilly upstairs - well for us that is, when we joined Bob & Margaret for drinks.
All quiet again once those baby galahs go to bed!
