Tues, 25th
23.3 degrees, blue sky with a few clouds and a light breeze. Max of 33 predicted.
Got the washing into the machine, may as well have a bit of luxury as we will be here for a month or so.
Wed, 26th
Overcast morning and windy.
Big day cleaning, mowing and sorting out the shed to make a bedroom for Jon, Annalise & the boys.
Thurs, 27th
A storm in the early hours, thunder and strong wind driving the rain but it moved across quickly then the blue sky was out again by breakfast time.
Into Bundaberg to see Terry. Did some shopping and fixed a few things for him. Bought water play toys etc and found a timber portacot at an Op Shop that we got for $5. Steve will use the sides to make the gates for the stairs and the base for a gate for the back door so our darlings will be safe. We thought it was home made but it had a manufacturer sticker on the base.
Picked up the safety mesh and posts to enclose the front yard too. Much nicer to know they are safe than trying to stop them running as there are still some ‘fast’ drivers down our little street.
Overcast bleak day. Back to Woodgate in the late afternoon.
6pm another storm is building but it passed us by.
Fri, 28th
28 degrees at 8am (min was 24). Beautiful morning for a walk.
The sea is flat with a light breeze. We have a great paved pathway right along the foreshore.
Pretty lilies and Poinciana in next door’s front yard.
We had seen the watermelon man had set up near the bakery so drove back to pick one up as Mitch and Kellie are coming for a few days on their way to Brisbane.
Continued on to check out Theodolite Creek at the northern end of Woodgate Beach. Only a narrow spit now between the ‘mouth’ area and the car park.
Back to the main boat ramp opposite the Pub. The erosion from the cyclone has been fixed up with rocks and the pathway redone.
Nice afternoon pottering about - lots of blog to write up, will get to that sometime. I am finishing Cooper’s 1st Christmas cross-stitch then I have the initials to do for the 4 littlies.
Kelly and Mitch arrived at 4pm, so lovely to see them both. We had a great afternoon chatting. Paul came over and joined us too for drinks. His wife Jenny will be up next week.
Sat, 29th
Misty rain to start the morning but it clear up to become another warm day.
Terry, David and Bradly came for a visit and we chatted the day away with Mitch and Kellie. Kellie sent me this photo she took.
We got the ‘new’ fridge out of the shed that David acquired and set it up ready to be the ‘drinks’ fridge as David had brought his fridge trolley up. The boys moved David’s cupboard in the back bedroom too so we could have more room in their for portacots etc.
Mitch and Kellie went for a swim - high tide and windy so Mitch loved it but Kellie wasn’t impressed with getting pounded. I prefer the calm days where I can just float about with my ‘noodle’.
Back to the 4 of us with Paul again for drinks as we watched a storm build but then go around us.
I cooked roast dinner so Paul joined us for that too.
Sun, 30th
A storm hit us about 4am but no hail this time. I just had to get up and close all the windows and doors again as it whirled around us.
Cooper is 2 months old now. Jon is home so he video-called us from the park so we could watch Beau on the swing and slide. Such a busy little man. Cooper had a swing with Mummy.
Went along to the community hall to check out the markets but it was only a few stalls so nothing exciting to look at. Mitch bought some peanuts and was happy with that.
Another hot and sticky day waiting for another storm to build.
Lots of thunder, lightning and wind blowing the rain horizontal as it moved quickly over us and headed out to sea.
We watched the last race of the 2025 Supercar Championships on TV - forgot it was on.
Made our own pizzas for dinner tonight.
