Mon, 1st
Nice morning temp, 23 degrees.
Mitch and Kellie headed off to Brisbane. Will be thinking of them both as they travel the chemo journey again.
I finished Cooper’s 1st Christmas hanger.
Now to start the initials for the grandchildren that each family member hangs on the tree when they arrive - my little tradition.
Steve made the gates for the stairs - works well.
The old fridge downstairs decided to die so I went online and found a secondhand one in Bundaberg we can have a look at tomorrow.
Tues, 2nd
Cooler this morning, 21 degrees. Clear sky but very windy.
Into Bundaberg to do some shopping and fix a few things at Terry’s house. Checked out the fridge and it was good - even has a little ice maker so that will keep everyone happy.
We bought a set-top box to try and solve the ‘unsupported’ movie problem we have with our movies on the hard drive.
Passed a flock of magpie geese in a field as we headed home.
6.30pm back to Woodgate - the sea is flat and the tide is in. No wind now.
Set up the set-top box and it works so we can watch all those other movies and TV series now instead of having to play them through my lap top.
Wed 3rd
Another cool morning 19 degrees. Nice walk along the pathway.
Continued with our jobs in setting up the house for the kids etc.
Rang Roald and Joan to catch up. They will try and come up to visit while the boys etc are here.
Jenny has arrived from Brisbane so now I have a swimming partner - or floating in the water is a better name for it. She brought up clothes and toys for the kids which is lovely of her. Her grandchildren have out grown them.
I got another day written on my blog and started the cross-stitch initials.
Thurs, 4th
Nice walk this morning. As the moon is getting fuller the high tide is getting higher. It is cutting into the sand dune so we have a drop off down onto the beach now.
Steve made the back door gate now. He certainly got his $5 worth from the wooden portacot.
Lovely breeze all day - very pleasant.
Fri, 5th
Sam’s birthday - sent him a message. He has to work so we won’t see him at Christmas.
Another morning walk with Steve then I joined Jenny for a float in the beautiful blue water.
Finished the cross-stitch initials. Still plodding through my blog.
Full moon - Super Moon, close to the earth apparently, tonight. Went down to watch it rise over the water but a band of cloud over Fraser Island blocked it.
Back home we saw the moon rise about the house opposite.
Sat, 6th
Some visitors in the back yard this morning.
Another walk then swim. Steve took a photo before he came in.
Did my baking and washing.
Sun, 7th
Steve and I went to a couple of garage sales. I got one thing I needed - a hole punch. I am making Beau and Sophia a photo ‘book’ - laminate the photo, punch hole in corner and join them by a ring so they can just turn the pages. They both are at the pull pages of our book stage so this should be good.
Stopped at the Community Markets on the way back. Lots of interesting home made things to buy. Good fresh vegies and fruit too. A lady makes all kinds of things with material so I showed her my little bag and she will make me a new one with pretty blue material.
Terry arrived with his Avan after lunch. He has just been to a caravan rally so we set him up near the back door so he has easy access into the house. Steve decided to put up a tarp to try and give him some more afternoon sun protection as it has been so hot. He has an air conditioner so that will be on a fair bit with this hotter weather.
Chatted the afternoon away.
