26-31 Dec, 2025 Geck Family beach house, Woodgate, Qld

Fri, 26th

We are having a wonderful time with our grandkids. Beau helped his Grandad pan for gold.

Sophia looked fashionable with her new glasses. She is having the lazy muscles in her eyes fixed on the 6th Jan so they need her to be used to wearing glasses for a while after the op.

Cooper has the serious look.

Sophia is such a happy soul.

Lots of fun playing on the chairs.

Granma Erica’s Desert Rose is in bloom, this one has a triple flower and was her favourite so I am glad it is still doing well. She must be watching over it from above.

Got the kids marked on the wall. We started this Christmas 2000. It is very interesting looking at all the names and heights.

The kids went down the beach for a wander and to sit on Granma’s memorial bench.

Lots of rain and flooding happening in the north so the kids are keeping an eye on the roads.

Sat, 27th

Dan, Fran and Sophia headed off early in the morning. Will overnight at Mackay.

Jon, Annalise and kids headed off after morning tea to head to Biloela to visit Annalise’s aunty. Her grandparents from Gladstone will be there too which is great.

Sun, 28th

Fran sent a video of the wet weather near Innisfail but they got through ok.

Last day for Jodie and Arthur. It has been wonderful having them here and getting to know Arthur.

We took the table tennis board off the pool table for a game of Kelly Pool tonight. Arthur was in bed so we have a great time.

Mon, 29th

Jodie and Arthur left in the hire car. They will fly from Bundaberg to Brisbane, have a break then on to Sydney then a little plane to Orange. Big day for them.

Stephanie helped me pack up the Christmas trees and lights. Then we all pulled down the shade shelters and removed the safety fence. All packed in the shed for the next big family gathering.

Jon, Annalise and boys home safely.

Tues, 30th

Griffo’s birthday so sent him a best wishes message. Cooper is 3 months old today.

Clean clear water for a swim today. Stephanie went for one last paddle on her board then they packed up.

Brian and Stephanie headed home. They made it through the flooded area near Ingham.

Wed 31st

Down to the beach for a swim, lovely and clear again.

Selfie with (Grandad) Terry and Steve on (Granma) Erica’s bench.

I posted up my Happy New Year message - getting in early.

David arrived before lunch. The others will come when they finish work. Amanda’s cousin, Victoria, husband Bradley and daughter Ava are visiting from Warrigul, Vic so they thought it would be nice to finish out the year here.

They arrived around 3 after a lovely lunch at the Macadamia Nut Farm near Bundaberg.

Amanda and Bradley arrived later - had finished work then its 1.5 hr drive up.

After dinner we had a few games of Kelly Pool then chatted while waiting for midnight to arrive. Terry bailed and went to bed. We got to 11pm - midnight in Victoria so we popped our poppers and said Happy New Year. We headed into the camper at 11.30pm and by the time we had showers and got ready the fireworks were going off on the beach with loud booms. The new year is here. It has been a great year.
